One of my favorite things about God is that He remains faithful even when we are faithless (2 Tim 2:13)…Be encouraged to know when you feel like your faith has run out, you can rely on God’s faith to build you up AND to fulfill His promises in your life. It’s HIS faith working in us anyway, so best to rely on His power and not our own to bring those promises in our lives to fruition. So how do we do that? Simply by surrendering ourselves to Him and accepting His word as truth no matter what things look like or feel like, including our own bodies. God is faithful and He will do that which He promises to do! (1 Thess 5:24) Faith is a gift to us that COMES to us from God when we hear the word (Rom 10:17). Every time we speak the word or hear another speak the word, God’s faith is coming to us, and I would say even for a deaf person, as we also meditate on the word and think on and it and hear it in our thoughts, faith comes to us hearing the word in our heads too! How awesome is it that God shares so freely of Himself with us! While we read Jesus often saying “your faith” has made you well, it’s important for us to recognize and understand that it wasn’t that these people had some great faith they had built up out of their own will power and could therefore be credited as having this awesome, amazing faith because they had done all the right things or in their case even that they likely had heard Jesus preach more than once! BUT they did believe, meaning they ACCEPTED what Jesus (the word) said and allowed His words to enter into their hearts and fill them with hope which enabled God’s miracle power to be released without limit….Many times Christians think faith is something we should strive to build up on our own until we one day reach this great place of maturity and can move mountains…it’s religious thinking for us to think based on our own efforts we could ever achieve anything so great. Faith is being fully persuaded by God – it’s a place of surrender, acceptance, and openness to God. It’s a place of accepting His word as truth and allowing His truth to minister to our hearts. Faith is a GIFT that comes to us from God and is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). We can only be full of faith and have faithfulness when we allow ourselves to be filled with His Spirit. THIS is how one has great faith working in them…by allowing GOD’s faith to consume; surrendering all our own thoughts, plans, ideas, emotions; letting go of ourselves completely and saying, “yes” to God. “Yes, Lord, I believe. I believe your word is true! No matter how I feel, no matter what things look like, I believe you are the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the One who is forever faithful, and I put my trust in you.” Hope in God never disappoints (Romans 5:5). Sometimes we expect God to do something He never said He would do, and that’s where disappointment can come in and the enemy tries to use it against us to separate us from God. We must put our hope in Jesus (the word of God) alone! When we hope in something God has spoken to his people in his word: “by my stripes you have been healed,” “peace is yours,” “the joy of the Lord is your strength,” “you have favor everywhere you go with everyone who sees you,” “you are blessed when you go in and when you come out,” as many promises as GOD HAS MADE they are yes and Amen to us as 2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us. God is no respector of persons, so if he has healing for one, then he has healing for all. Joy for one, then joy for all. Our part is to simply surrender our hearts, call down all the negative thoughts, emotions and lies of the enemy that try to come our way, and RECEIVE that which God has already spoken and promised to us in His word. HE IS FAITHFUL! Faith in God is a place of surrender and acceptance that His word is true no matter what, and as we “grow” in faith, it’s really just God’s faith growing in us as we allow him to take over more and more and truly become one.
